Welcome to 2ned Magazine's second episode of the Tour de France program "The Amateur and the Danish Tour Legends", which is dedicated to the Danish riders who have raced and completed at least one Tour de France throughout their careers.
Today's guest is none other than the amazing Peter Meinert, who during his active career was a support rider for three legendary cycling teams, namely TVM, Telekom and US Postal.
He has participated in no less than 14 grand tours, including five Tours de France, and has ridden as a support rider for some of the biggest stars of the nineties.
Hear what it was like to ride alongside, and not least ride for, Lance Armstrong, hear about the desperate fight for survival that you don't see on TV, as the riders fight behind the favorites on days with illness or bad legs, and hear about an all-star tour team that would make even Jumbo-Visma and UAE shake in their pants. Hear all this and much more when we review Peter Meinert's career and Tour de France experiences.
