In these two episodes of "The Amateur and the Expert Talk About" we have taken a trip to Hobro to talk about touring cycling with 66-year-old Lars Nielsen, who in the USA goes by the name "The Long Rider".

Cycling touring is one of the oldest phenomena in cycling, and has existed for almost as long as bicycles have existed. The term simply refers to cycling over a longer distance with a pack.

In these episodes you can hear Lars Nielsen's stories from a long life as a cyclist and touring cyclist. 1980 was the first time Lars Nielsen tried his hand at touring cycling outside Denmark. After that, it became a big part of Lars' life. Today he is still active and has cycled more than 160,000 kilometers as a touring cyclist on foreign roads. This has, among other things, secured him 4 Guinness records for long-distance cycling, published five books and secured him admission to the "Adventurers' Club" in Los Angeles, the "Travellers' Club" in Oslo and the "Travelers' Club" in Denmark.
